Gregg Upshaw is a contemporary poet and writer of social issues, as well as a social and legal advocate for social injustices. One of his goals is to develop programs that will enable the marginalized and underserved population to matriculate themselves back into mainstream society. Additionally, he seeks to create and provide training programs that will lead to sustainability for individuals and families with limited skills, education, or other barriers that impede success. At SURGEtacoma, he is currently working on a video entitled “Domestic Violence” and participating in various speaking engagements. His education includes a BA in Public Administration & Policy with a Pre-Law minor, a Masters in Human Services & Executive Leadership with a minor in Marriage & Family Therapy, and he currently has 55+ credits towards his Doctorate in Human Services & Crisis Intervention which he hopes to complete in the near future. Gregg also has a diverse background in corporate management, security management, legal administration, and career consultation.
